In July, at the conclusion of the Anglia in Bloom Judging, Anglia's President Brian Thorton remarked that it was the first recent Judging Tour he had been on that nobody had complained about lack of money. Filby in Bloom has a great track record for raising money to fund its activities. Here's how....

A substantial income is gained from the recycling of Newspapers, Glass, Clothes and Shoes. Leave these at the Recycling Centre at the village Post Offfice or telephone to arrange collection. Tel: 01493 369250
The Annual Village Fete is held, every year, on the Playing Field, on August Bank Holiday Monday. This is complimented by a Grand Fireworks display on the first Sunday in November and other fundraisers throughout the year. Tel: 01493 369250
Open Gardens Weekend
A very popular event held, every year, usually on the second weekend in July. Participating residents open their gardens between 10 am and 4 pm. Entry is by purchase of a Garden Map at the village Post Office. Tel: 01493 369250

Whilst individual donations have been generous over the years, gifts from bodies such as the Woodlands Trust and the Norfolk Wildlife Trust have enabled some major projects. Seen here is new hedge planting along Main Road provided by the Woodlands Trust.
